Nigeria: Iwollo Health Clinic
Local Partner: Iwollo Health Clinic
Recipients: 150 mothers, expectant mothers, or women within child-bearing age are expected to benefit from this program.
Harambee’s contribution: €10,000
With only two health facilities serving a population of nearly 4,000—and limited access to quality care—many women have relied on unsafe traditional birth practices, contributing to Nigeria’s high maternal mortality rate.
This project strengthens the Iwollo Rural Clinic, originally established by Harambee, to provide safer, more effective maternal care. In addition to improving healthcare access, the initiative empowers women economically and promotes healthier, more stable families. Beneficiaries include mothers, expectant mothers, and women of child-bearing age, many of whom have limited education and depend on small-scale farming to survive.
Activity: Through this project, Harambee USA is investing in women’s health, safety, and long-term well-being.
