The Tewa Training Center is a professional training center that was launched in 2012 by the Kianda Foundation. The project is carried out in Kuruwitu, in Kilifi county. The goal is to reduce the level of poverty in the region by training young women in the hotel field to facilitate their efforts in finding work or initiating their own activities. The young women that will participate in the professional training programs are between the ages of 16 and 25. The Tewa Training Center will also manage an “Outreach program” that will offer locals courses on nutrition, agriculture, sewing and literacy. 90 girls each year will benefit from the hotel training courses and 200 women each year from the Outreach program.
